MORITA Veraview X800 LP Volumetric Tomography and Digital Panoramic X-Ray Unit
MORITA: The Only Dental Tomography Brand Capable of Producing Real Images by Shooting Simultaneously
Veraview X800 Series
Veraview X800, the eighth-generation new tomography unit introduced by Morita to world markets for the first time at IDS 2017.
Winner of the IF Design Gold Award, the X800 is characterized by outstanding image quality as well as first-class design. Veraview X800, a 2D / 3D X-ray unit that performs both two-dimensional and three-dimensional imaging, provides greater radiation safety for dentists and patients.
As a result of the attention given to detail, which is a component of Hi-End imaging quality, top-level high resolution with more than 2.5 LP/mm MTF (spatial resolution) and 80 μm voxel size is offered. Furthermore, thanks to its 360-degree rotation angle and the continuous image capture feature found only in Morita, the X800 achieves a high number of images even in the smallest FOV area. Thus, images that are faithful to the real tissue and fully express anatomical naturalness are obtained. With the "zoom reconstruction" feature, a patented technology exclusive to Morita that is above the competition, even images taken with larger voxel sizes can be reconstructed with 80 μm voxel precision.
With its extremely stable structure in terms of hardware and mechanical quality, the X800 provides sharp, clear, and distinct images thanks to its vibration-free multi-axis movement capability, while preventing unwanted reflections and artifacts thanks to its horizontal beam characteristics.
Since the X800 performs panoramic shots with the same Flat Panel Detector used in tomography, it does not require a sensor change between 2D/3D shots. Additionally, it can capture panoramic images that are much deeper and layered than normal panoramics, automatically adjusting the layer focus to obtain the ideal image.
X800 is a unique device with its many functions such as sharp images offering measurement accuracy, artifact reduction with horizontal beam, and automatic image processing.

Sharp imaging plays an important role in patient health. The sharper the image, the more accurate the diagnosis, leading to better and focused treatment.
Sharp Voxel
Veraview X800 has an uncompromising resolution that provides top-level performance, which is absolutely impressive. In the Ø 40 mm × H 40 mm field of view (FOV), the voxel size for images is 80 μm, giving an excellent resolution of 2.5 LP/mm.
MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) is a way to objectively evaluate line resolution and objectively expresses how many line pairs can be displayed distinctly at what contrast level. Generally, if the MTF is 10%, it is possible to distinguish with the naked eye. Spatial resolution does not depend only on voxel size.
Low Artifact
For a clear diagnosis, you need a clear X-ray image. Artifacts/reflections in an image can mimic pathological changes, leading to false findings. Therefore, it is very important to prevent these "false positive" elements from appearing in the first place and to pave the way for a precise, reliable diagnosis. X800 offers artifact-reduced, true-to-life image quality for reliable images.
Shooting with zero-degree angle in tomography
Unusually, the sensor and tube are aligned when taking tomography with the device. Thus, the horizontal X-ray beam sent at a 0-degree angle prevents artifacts that inevitably arise in traditional methods that emit angled beams.
Shooting with 5 degrees in panoramic
For panoramic shots, the panel is brought back to its 5-degree angled position to prevent palate superimposition. Thus, each shooting mode is performed with the most appropriate beam angle required for it.
Hi-Fi and Hi-Speed modes
If you want to obtain the widest possible detail, you can use the 360-degree Hi-Fi mode. However, depending on the indication, the 180-degree Hi-Speed mode is also available. In this way, you get images with shorter exposure time and lower radiation dose.
Focus on the target with optional FOV
The device, which has 11 field of view (FOV) options, provides the diagnostic assurance necessary to plan a successful treatment. In accordance with the ALARA principle (As Low As Reasonably Achievable), you can choose the most appropriate FOV for your diagnostic subject. Thus, you have the best possible image of the area of interest even while minimizing the radiation dose.
Zoom Reconstruction
There is now a 2D/3D functional imaging system with zoom reconstruction function for the first time in the world. From an image with 125 μm voxel size, you can reconstruct a high-resolution image segment of 80 μm without having to take another picture. This function applies to all field of view (FOV) areas with Ø100, Ø80, and Ø40 diameters.
Panoramic Quality
Accurate diagnosis, a successful and comprehensive treatment plan, and appropriate implant selection rely on the full visualization of teeth and the mandibular bone. Veraview X800, with its numerous innovative functions, also offers panoramic images with excellent contrast and consistent high resolution.
AFP (Adaptive Focal Position)
The AFP function analyzes multiple layer exposures. It checks every region, selects optimum panoramic layers, and converts them into a new image. Result: Every element in the image from the root apex to the incisal/occlusal region is perfectly in focus.
DDAE (Digital Direct Automatic Exposure)
With this function, the flat panel detector detects X-ray transmission in real-time during exposure and then creates images with a visibly different dynamic gray scale range increased compared to the known panoramic picture by simultaneously adjusting the amount of emitted radiation according to the change in bone density.
Ideal Distribution of Gray Tones: Adaptive Gray Scale (AGS)
All panoramic areas are analyzed/evaluated to determine the optimum contrast covering the entire image.
With the AGS function, an image with well-balanced contrast and ideal gray tone distribution according to the whole picture is created by taking into account areas with different light intensities all over the dental arch.
Light and Image Management: Automatic Image Enhancer (AIE)
With AIE-HD, a patented light management method of Morita, the light distribution of images is automatically optimized. Extremely dark and extremely bright areas in the image are balanced, and contrast and brightness are distributed homogenously. In this way, details are strengthened and emphasized, and the image becomes sharper and stronger.
Final Touch: Combining multiple functions
Many functions including AFP, AGS, DDAE, and AIE-HD can be combined. The result is images that are completely in focus and clearly show the regions of interest.
Face-to-face design: Communicating face-to-face
Face-to-face positioning allows for better dialogue with the patient while adjusting the laser beams.
Easy Operation: Intuitive touch screen
The touch LCD control panel enables intuitive and effortless operation using symbols.
Reduced doses: Less radiation – more protection
Since digital imaging systems were introduced, the X-ray exposure patients are subjected to has decreased dramatically; however, radiation safety and patient health continue to be a primary concern. Therefore, Morita continues to do everything possible to reduce the dose to provide the highest possible level of radiation safety. Especially in 2D images, Veraview X800 has many innovative features developed for dose reduction.
Smart and smaller: Partial images
When you use the segmental panoramic mode for 2D images, the image focus is reduced only to the desired essential elements. Result: While the region of interest is clearly visible, the surrounding areas are protected from dose.
Gentle on little ones: Special child setting
Setting the child mode for 2D images reduces the irradiation time and radiation area within the desired region. Panoramic shots also have features that adults can benefit from. Depending on how large the patient is, you can set the shooting mode for a large, average, or small patient size, thus optimizing the relationship between the diagnostic benefit obtained from the image and the patient dose.
Image layer orbit selection: 3 different options
No patient is exactly alike – people differ in many ways, not just in size but also including the shape of the dental arch. Therefore, the exposure layer for 2D images can be optimally adjusted according to the patient's dental arch. Three types of image layer orbits are available: narrow, standard, and wide.
