APPLE Dental RVG Sensor – DTS i plus
Developed by Apple Dental, this RVG sensor uses state-of-the-art photon counting technology to obtain extremely sharp and clear periapical X-ray images.
Apple Dental RVG SENSOR – DTS i plus
State-of-the-art technology: Photon Counting Intraoral X-Ray Sensor
Much more saturated and sharp images are obtained with the new technology DTS periapical RVG sensor offered by Apple.
The advanced technology photon counter within the DTS sensor processes the rays coming to the sensor as photons to create the image. Apple Dental is the first and only company in China to possess this Photon counting sensor technology.
The DTS iPlus sensor structure is completely different from the traditional CMOS sensor. CMOS sensors have a chemical layer of amplifier (scintillator); its functionality may deteriorate after a period of use, it is easily affected by humid environments, has low impact resistance, moreover, it is very difficult to shape the chip, and the cost is high, so their prices are also higher.
Photon counting detector technology, primarily used in aerospace, contains no chemicals, so it is not affected by humid environments, is relatively more resistant to impacts, and it has been tested that the chips inside can be exposed to radiation more than 500,000 times. This means that when a dentist buys a sensor, they can use it for more than 10 years without image degradation. Since no chemical material is used in the internal structure of the chips, light absorption is performed directly by the sensor processing center and converted into images without any loss. However, in traditional CMOS sensors, image losses may occur as it has to pass through many structural layers before starting to process images.
